A Rare Banksy Experience Is About to Hit Tampa
Tampa is about to host a major art moment as a traveling exhibition featuring over 160 original works by Banksy makes its way into the city. Known as The Art of Banksy, this collection is one of the largest privately owned groupings of the artist’s work and is set to draw attention from across Florida. For many in Tampa Bay, this will be the first real chance to experience Banksy’s work up close, all in one place, without leaving the region.
The exhibit will take over David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts inside Morsani Hall Stage, transforming the space into a walkthrough experience built around the full collection. Running from August 1st through August 30th, the exhibit is designed to guide visitors through a wide range of Banksy’s work, creating an immersive flow that highlights both iconic imagery and lesser seen pieces from private collections.
Dates Locked and Tickets About to Drop
The Art of Banksy opens Saturday, August 1st and runs through Sunday, August 30th, giving Tampa Bay a limited window to catch the exhibit while it is in town.
Tickets start at $29.99 and go on sale Thursday, May 7th at noon. With the scale of the collection and the short run, this is expected to be one of the more talked about events in Tampa this summer.
