Beachcomber and Jimmy B’s Sell in $31.5 Million St. Pete Beach Deal

A St. Pete Beach Staple Just Changed Hands

The Beachcomber Hotel and Jimmy B’s Beach Bar on St. Pete Beach have officially sold, marking a major shift for one of the most recognizable properties on Gulf Boulevard. The 102 room beachfront hotel at 6200 Gulf Boulevard was purchased by South Carolina based OTO Development for $31.5 million.

The Beachcomber has been part of St. Pete Beach for more than 50 years and Jimmy B’s has long been one of those places that feels stitched into the beach itself. Tourists know it for live music, drinks, and direct Gulf views. Locals know it as one of the last remaining spots that still carries that older, laid back St. Pete Beach feel.

The New Owner Already Has a Bigger Footprint Nearby

OTO Development is not new to Tampa Bay. The company already owns several hotels in the region, including the Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach, which sits right next to The Beachcomber. That detail is what makes this sale especially interesting.

The company has publicly pointed to potential “synergy” between the neighboring properties, which means many eyes will be watching what happens next. Between Jimmy B’s at The Beachcomber and Coconut Charlie’s at the Hilton Garden Inn, this stretch of beach now has two major beachfront bar destinations under the same ownership umbrella.

So far, OTO Development has not announced major long term changes. The Beachcomber and Jimmy B’s were closed for about a year after damage from the back to back hurricanes in 2024. The property reopened in October 2025 after a major restoration, bringing back one of St. Pete Beach’s best known beach bar experiences.

Now, only months after reopening, the property has entered a new chapter under new ownership. The previous owner, Miami based Gencom, purchased the hotel in 2018 for $24 million before selling it for $31.5 million.

Gulf Boulevard Keeps Getting More Valuable

This sale is another reminder that Gulf Boulevard is still one of the most watched stretches of real estate in Pinellas County. Between hotel renovations, resort fights, storm recovery, and rising tourism demand, St. Pete Beach is changing fast.

The big question now is whether The Beachcomber keeps its familiar Old Florida personality or slowly becomes part of a more polished resort corridor. For now, Jimmy B’s remains open, the hotel is operating, and the beach crowd will keep showing up.

But when a beloved local landmark sells for $31.5 million, people are going to pay attention. On St. Pete Beach, change always lands a little differently when it happens right on the sand.
