The Rays Make Their Off-Field Return
The Tampa Bay Rays just scored a different kind of win in St. Petersburg. The team officially opened a Rays Pop-Up Store at 1101 First Avenue South, directly across from Tropicana Field. This temporary retail space is about much more than jerseys and autographs. It is a way for the Rays to maintain a visible presence in the city while Tropicana Field undergoes major repairs.
The grand opening, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, features giveaways, classic ballpark snacks, and an in-person meet and greet with starting pitcher Ryan Pepiot. Fans can browse exclusive merchandise, sip free lattes, and soak up a little of that Tropicana atmosphere that has been missing since the season ended.
Coffee, Collectibles, and Community Vibes ☕️⚾️

The store offers everything from new apparel to rare memorabilia. The real highlight, however, is the complimentary coffee bar that serves lattes, pastries, and light bites. The goal is to turn a simple shopping trip into a casual social experience that connects fans in a relaxed setting.
Bill Walsh, the Rays’ Chief Business Officer, described the pop-up as a “concrete first step” toward returning to Tropicana Field for the 2026 season. “There has been great progress with repairs,” Walsh said. “This space allows fans to reconnect and celebrate the team throughout the holidays while we continue preparing for our return home.”
Visiting Hours and Parking Information
The Rays Pop-Up Store is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rays season members can receive a 20% discount on eligible items. Free parking is provided across the street in Lot 6 at Tropicana Field.
A Strategic Move for St. Pete
This pop-up is not only about selling merchandise. It also represents a thoughtful move to maintain momentum during the team’s transition period. With redevelopment plans and future stadium discussions underway, the shop gives residents a way to stay connected to the Rays while reinforcing St. Pete’s role as the team’s home base.
Locals can enjoy shopping, sipping coffee, and showing support while Tropicana Field gets its much-needed facelift. The pop-up serves as a small but meaningful reminder that baseball still belongs to the Burg.
