St. Pete Sunday Market Finds a New Home at the St. Petersburg Museum of History
Share
For nearly three years, the St. Pete Sunday Market has been a third-Sunday tradition - a place where neighbors connect, makers showcase their work, and locals discover something new to love. Now, that tradition is moving to a fresh location. Starting Sunday, September 21st, 2025, the market will officially relaunch at the St. Petersburg Museum of History. Even better, the kickoff comes with free admission to both the market and the museum, inviting the community to shop, explore, and celebrate together.

This next chapter brings something truly unique: the Sunday Market will unfold inside the Museum of History, set among the exhibits that tell St. Pete’s story. Shoppers can browse local art, handmade goods, vintage treasures, and sweet treats while surrounded by the city’s past. It’s a move that blends creativity and culture in a way only St. Pete could imagine.
From Ferg’s to the Night Market
The relocation comes after a successful summer run at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill on Central Avenue. The iconic sports bar provided shelter and a lively downtown crowd during the rainy season, but with Buccaneers football returning and weekends growing busier, organizers knew the market needed a more sustainable Sunday home. Kody Roussert, CEO of St. Pete is Super Cool, explained that moving to the museum ensures the market can continue its every-third-Sunday tradition without competing with game-day energy.

Ferg’s isn’t stepping out of the picture, though. Instead, the partnership is evolving into something new: the St. Pete Night Market, launching Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, and returning every first Wednesday of the month from 6:00–10:00 PM. Expect a midweek celebration with local makers, live music, craft drinks, and even pickleball—all fueled by the electric energy that Central Avenue is known for.
A Win for the Local Scene
For vendors, the Museum of History provides a weatherproof, high-visibility space where creativity shines alongside cultural exhibits. For locals and visitors, it means two distinct ways to experience the market spirit: Sundays spent exploring art and treasures inside the museum, and Wednesdays enjoying live music, pickleball, and neighborhood energy at Ferg’s.
For the wider arts and small business community, this transition is another reminder of St. Pete’s resilience. Even in a year filled with challenges, the markets are adapting and expanding. It’s proof that St. Pete’s creative culture is built to last.
