That expensive Uber ride to Tampa International Airport might finally have some competition! St. Pete travelers now have a much cheaper way to catch their flights, thanks to a brand-new express bus connecting Downtown St. Petersburg directly to Tampa International Airport for just $2.25 each way.
Launched October 4th 2026, the new 727 Airport Express from the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) gives locals and visitors an affordable alternative to rideshares, airport parking fees, and the usual headache of crossing the Howard Frankland Bridge. Named after Pinellas County's iconic 727 area code, the service is already operating seven days a week.
A $2.25 Ride Across Tampa Bay

The 727 Airport Express makes nine stops throughout Downtown St. Pete before heading across the Howard Frankland Bridge using the express lanes. The buses feature free Wi-Fi, luggage racks, and connections to the SunRunner, making the service convenient for residents, tourists, and airport employees.
Trips are scheduled approximately every 75 minutes, with travel times generally around 35 minutes, although traffic can affect arrival times. The service also eliminates the need to find airport parking or pay for an expensive rideshare just to get across the bay.
