St. Pete Free Museum Day Returns This Saturday With Free Admission Across the City

One Saturday and No Excuse to Keep Saying “We Should Go Sometime”

St. Pete Free Museum Day returns Saturday, September 19th, giving locals a chance to explore museums and cultural destinations across the city without paying regular admission. Participating locations include The Dalí Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, The James Museum, FloridaRAMA, The Florida Holocaust Museum, St. Petersburg Museum of History, Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center, and more.

The options stretch from surrealist masterpieces and wildlife art to local history, marine life, immersive experiences and stories that deserve to be remembered. Trying to visit every location may turn a fun Saturday into an Olympic event, so choose two or three favorites and build your day around them.

Check the Rules Before You Head Out

Free Museum Day does not work exactly the same at every location. Some museums require timed admission or strongly recommend reservations, while several limit their free offer to Pinellas County residents with valid identification. Hours, capacity limits and entry requirements also vary, so check directly with each museum before leaving home.

New for 2026, visitors can show proof of museum admission to unlock special offers from participating St. Pete restaurants, retailers, galleries and other local businesses. Park once, use the SunRunner or trolley when possible, and turn Free Museum Day into a full day around the city.
