Where Retro Meets Roast: The Buzz 727 Brings Vintage Flavor to St. Pete’s Coffee Scene

In the heart of the Skyway Marina District, The Buzz 727 is creating a new kind of neighborhood space—equal parts coffeehouse and vintage lounge. Located at 2920 34th Street South, this newcomer to the local business scene officially opened its doors in early June and has already become a standout stop for anyone craving caffeine, character, and conversation.

Open Thursday through Sunday from 8 AM to 2 PM, The Buzz 727 delivers more than a great cup of coffee—it’s a curated experience for locals and visitors alike.

Vintage Vibes, Local Roots

Step inside and you’ll immediately notice the difference. This is not your typical café layout. The seating is relaxed and varied—designed for everything from solo laptop time to casual hangs with friends. But what really defines The Buzz is its seamless integration of a vintage retail space right into the café.

Owned and operated by the same team behind Vintage Marché, The Buzz 727 offers a daily dose of retro flair with shelves of vintage home goods, quirky finds, handmade pottery, and even vinyl records—many of which are for sale. It’s like walking into a cozy time capsule that also serves espresso.

A Menu That Keeps Things Simple (and Solid)

While The Buzz keeps the focus on its atmosphere and aesthetic, it doesn’t skimp on quality. The drink menu includes espresso-based favorites, seasonal coffee options, and teas sourced with intention. You’ll also find fresh pastries on rotation, rounding out a thoughtful selection of treats that pair well with both lounging and light shopping.

What you won’t find? Loud music, corporate branding, or a rushed energy. This is a slow-sip kind of place.

A Soft Opening Months in the Making

The opening of The Buzz didn’t happen overnight. After months of construction and setbacks—including delays caused by hurricanes—the team finally launched in June 2025. Their Instagram caption summed it up best:

“Our dream has come true. After months of construction, delays, and hurricanes, we’re pleased to announce that The Buzz is open for business in St. Petersburg.”

The result of that effort is a thoughtfully designed space that feels both lived-in and brand new—inviting you to settle in, sip something good, and maybe leave with a little piece of the past.

Make It a Stop on Your Weekend Route

With Vintage Marché just next door (open once a month), The Buzz 727 is a perfect addition to a weekend morning itinerary. Stop in for coffee and a pastry, browse for a gift or something for your space, and enjoy a relaxed vibe that reflects the creative spirit of St. Pete.
